"These three cocoas were the second collection I created. They were meant to be tried as a set or a flight, where you would taste your way from white to spice. Bianca's nose, the bouquet is heaven! If all I could do is smell this cocoa I would be a happy camper. The Aztec Elixir was the first chili and chocolate drink on the market and I remember how people were so wide-eyed and disbelieving…until they took a sip. The ancho and chipotle chillies with bits of vanilla are so well complemented with the chocolate, it just warms me up. The vanilla sugar we make is truly my favorite part of drinking both the La Parisienne and the Aztec Elixir. Instead of just using an extract I like EATING the vanilla bean itself. In fact, the vanilla bean flavor is in the pods not the little seeds, so when you have a sip of the cocoas you actually bite into small bits of vanilla bean and chew. The texture is somewhat similar to coconut."

Spice me up!
| Hot and thick, sweet with a bite! Nothing quite compares with Aztec Elixir. A treat from a bygone culture that evokes exotic places. One sip and you'll be hooked. Aztec Elixir has become a traditional holiday gift in our house as well as a gift we share with others. This drink is nothing less than stellar. |

not vegan, horrible customer service
| This product is not vegan, it contains butter. I ordered a few items for my girlfriend for valentines day since vegan valentine chocolate is rare, when it arrived on valentines day she looked at the ingredients and saw butter, and a warning this contained milk products. I contacted customer service and was told they needed to check with the production managers for some reason, I guess the fact it says it contained butter on the label isn't good enough for them, maybe their labels aren't accurate to what is and isn't contained in the product, that's comforting. Over a week later and no response, no refund. Failure of a company. |

Begin every day as an Aztec.
| I am not normally a big fan of hot chocolate, as often it is way too sweet, but this stuff is DIVINE. Spicy, rich, intense... the recommended 4oz serving size is more than enough, making this box well worth the cost as it will last a while. Perhaps a healthier alternative to coffee in the morning? And yes, it IS vegan, glad of the clarification on the site. I have had other 'aztec' cocoas at cafes before and none of them were quite as complex and full of flavor as this. Sitting on the deck in the morning sipping this is truly a transportative experience. |

Better than I expected
| This is hot chocolate beyond the boring norm. I really enjoyed this drink. It has wonderful flavor and heat. I've also mixed it into a chocolate concoction and drizzled over deep-fried cinnamon pita bread. That was a hit at an office party. |
