SKU: CF-PAN-BAC

I began experimenting with bacon + chocolate at the tender age of 6, while eating chocolate chip pancakes drenched in Aunt Jemima® syrup, as children often do. Beside my chocolate-laden cakes laid 3 strips of sizzlin' bacon, just barely touching a sweet pool of maple syrup. And then, the magic—just a bite of the bacon was too salty and I yearned for the sweet kiss of chocolate and syrup, so I combined the two. In retrospect, perhaps this was a turning point; for on that plate something magical happened, the beginnings of a combination so ethereal and delicious that it would haunt my thoughts until I found the medium to express it — chocolate.
From there, it was just a matter of time…and what began as a love of salt and sweet quickly unraveled into an obsession. No sooner could I wait to unveil the royal coupling in solid bar form, a deep milk chocolate with bits and pieces of Applewood smoked bacon and just a sprinkling of Alderwood smoked salt. And now, the great unveiling. A pancake mix that includes addictive bites of bacon and chocolate, circling the story back to its inception at my childhood breakfast plate. Really, what doesn't taste better with bacon?
peace, love + chocolate,
Katrina

Wanted more bacon flavor but...
I liked these pancakes, they were certainly an indulgence but I find that there is not enough bacon flavor in the chocolate. I would still give this as a gift just because I love the idea of it. I am dying to try the toffee bars.

Great Pancakes!!!
Many of my friends scoff at the combination of bacon, chocolate, and pancakes. Yet this recipe proved them wrong.

The most amazing Pancakes ever!
I gave Mo's Bacon/Chocolate Pancake Mix as a gift to one of my in-laws. They couldn't stop raving about them so I immediately ordered a 3-Pack. I served them to family and friends at a Brunch and thats all everyone could talk about. I followed the directions on the package exactly and it made 15 5" diameter Pancakes from only one package of mix. The only comment I have is that there are not enough Bacon/Chocolate Chips in the package to put 4-5 on each pancake (as shown in the picture). Luckily I had two 3 oz. Mo's Milk Chocolate bars on hand and broke those into pieces. There needs to be at least 4 times the amount of Bacon/Chocolate Chips in the package for proper Bacon/Chocolate flavor. I would definitely buy this again, but would also buy 2 3oz. Milk Chocolate/Bacon Bars (don't buy the Dark Bars) for enough chocolate. Thanks Vosges for helping me have a great Brunch!

Not that great
It's just pancake mix with chocolate chips. You can buy these same items separately and get almost the same thing. You mix the pancake mix, pour it in the pan, and place the chips on top. Pretty simple and so is the end product.

Get a BIG griddle!
The directions are easy to follow, but the execution can be pretty tricky. On the one hand, these are delicious. Period. But unless you have a large griddle, preferably an electric one so that the temperature is perfect because the most difficult thing is keeping the chocolate from burning. I'd suggest breaking the chips up into smaller pieces to make them more buoyant. Other than that, great mix!

The Best you Can Get
Every time I buy these, I almost wince at the price, but then I remember how terrific this recipe is: fluffy, sweet and savory. For those who want more bacon--and who wouldn't--just cook a side and sprinkle them on top. Love it!!

Ulck.
These were a mess. The proportion of wet ingredients (3 c buttermilk etc) to dry (2 c mix) resulted in a thin, crepe like batter that burned quickly. And the instructions are unnecessarily complicated -- I just messed up three bowls and a pan for a total of 0 edible pancakes.

Choc. Chip Pancake Mix Review
This pancake mix is fantastic. Follow the instructions carefully. Cooking the batter for 2 min on an evenly heated griddle on one side and 45sec on the other after you've added the chocolate chips will ensure perfectly make pancakes with gooey chocolate. The batter recipe creates delicious pancakes that are fluffy and light.
