Father's Day Gifts / Caramel Marshmallows + Beer

Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout is in the style of the Russian imperial stout which was originally brewed in Great Britain to satisfy the tastes of the Czar's court; the great connoisseurs of Champagne, caviar and the art of the table. Because it was transported across the freezing Baltic, Russian imperial stout was brewed
with a high level of alcohol. This beer beauty is a rich, flavorful, deep chocolate color and scented with a roasted barley nose. The complexity of malt, hops, alcohol and yeast, compliment our sweet Madagascar vanilla bean marshmallow and caramel nuttiness.

The Beer + Chocolate legacy began with experimentation: Rows of mini pilsner
glasses brimming with frothy Stouts, hoppy IPAs, tart Flemish Sours and more…
alongside trays of chocolate. And then the tasting began.
The result was a list of tried-and-true favorites, with the coupling of our Caramel Marshmallows and Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout topping the list.

How to eat a Caramel Marshmallow with beer:
See. Pour the chilled beer into a pilsner glass, let the beer settle and then evaluate the rich, creamy head.
Swirl the beer gently around the glass to draw out the aromas.
Smell. Inhale through your nose, smelling the beer. Enjoy the bouquet of malted milk, vanilla and oats.
Next, Snap the dark chocolate outer layer of the Caramel Marshmallow with your teeth. Taste the bittersweet chocolate notes intermingling with bitter hops and cream. How long do the flavors linger?
Sip the beer, first the foam then the liquid. Resist swallowing immediately. Let it wander and explore your entire palate. Taste the chocolate again. Does the dark chocolate temper the beer's hops?
Evaluate. Do you like it, love it, dig it or ditch it?
