Our friend Richard Spiegel harvests this rare, ethereal honey from the Kiawe trees of Hawaii's Big Island. Richard and his crew meditate before removing the honey, taking only the surplus so that bee colonies continue to flourish. Volcano Island Honey is creamy and pure, unheated and non-filtered with delicate tropical aromas—truly an exquisite gift from Mother Nature.

Only one grove of Kiawe (Key-ah-vey) trees on the Big Island of Hawaii is capable of producing this sweet nectar, Volcano Island Honey. Richard's team is very cognizant of the needs of the land and the bees that make the honey. They never take more honey than the bees can give and they produce everything naturally. The honey is raw which means it is not heat-processed or filtered. Richard and his team meditate before setting out to harvest this special honey, adding to its allure.

The honey itself has a full, mouth coating texture, almost as if something rich like butter has been added to it. It has a delicate tropical flavor reminiscent of its Hawaiian origin, with notes of young coconut and pineapple foam. The sweetness of the honey combined with our dark chocolate makes for a unique tasting experience like no other.
