Vosges Haut-Chocolat continues to enter into the world's most enticing neighborhoods, this time opening its purple door in New York's Upper East Side. It will prove to be the most glamorous jewel of chic chocolatier, Katrina Markoff's boutiques.

A disciple of Ferran and Alberto Adria of Spain's famed El Bulli restaurant, Markoff has launched the Travel the World through Chocolate concept into sustainable luxury through her store with organic peanut butter bonbons collection and new bacon and chocolate bar. Markoff reunited with Curtis Carey of The Curtis Carey Group to design each niche within this intimate 500 square foot boutique immerses one within the beauty of soft carved curves of a white lacquered Baroque Armoire, abundant with purple regal boxes filled with colorful chocolates. Antique Parisian mirrors nod to the bohemian glamour of the 1940s with be-bop music buzzing and café style intellectual conversations ringing of the existential relationship between chocolate and human destiny. Atop these all so deep exchanges the marble table feels cool to the touch, reminding one of the luscious ice cream housed deeper inside the store. Touch the silk of a regal purple menu and ask the waitress to bring you steaming hot chocolate in the vintage teacups with 1950's swimmers screened atop- what is that you say about chocolate lifestyle?
