What makes a restaurant great? The food, the wine, the setting? They are all important. But more often than not what sets a restaurant apart is something far less tangible. Something that makes you want to go back, time and time again. Something that makes you feel comfortable.

The Italians, probably the world's best hosts, have a word for it. They call it convivio and predictably it has no direct English translation. Rather, it serves to describe that love of good food and good conversation that is quintessentially Italian.

"Convivio is that moment when the host wishes everyone buon appetito then spills a few drops of red wine on a fresh white table cloth to make everyone feel at home. It is a relaxed yet heartfelt welcome. The carefully prepared meal, which is a lively sequence of sensations, where the crisp alternates with the soft and yielding, the pungent with the bland, the variable with the staple, the elaborate with the simple…It is the shared glass of wine. It is about fun and laughter, about people, about sharing and giving. This is food in a life. This is La Sala."

The best I've ever tried!
I bought this in Oslo, Norway. And it is, by far, the best chocolate I've ever tasted!

Katrina better than Willy Wonka
Hands down the absolute best candy bar I've ever eaten. But, I do still have lots of love for the Bacon bar, the Rooiboos, the Naga, the Habana, and on and on. Searching this site is like being Charlie at Willy Wonka's Candy Factory. Each thing you try is better than the last, until you want to try all of them all over again.

Both Unique and Classic.
I love this one for two reasons. The coconut and macadamia nuts against the milk chocolate is ambrosia. And it's the perfect gift for friends who are more pedestrian in their tastes. Both unique and classic at the same time.

We have tried almost all of the Vosges chocolate bars and this is our favorite so far, which is really surprising to me. It's unusual and so well balanced.
