The Elvesia Plantation can be found in the small town of El Valle of the eastern side of the island of Hispaniola. Grown in a sub-tropical climate on beautiful lands, these cocoa beans are fully organic and full of flavor. Cocoa beans grow on this land from Criollo and Trinitario trees brought to this part of the world from Swiss settlers almost 100 years ago. In addition, our partnership with Rainforest Alliance encourages cocoa farming practices that are sustainable over the long term by maintaining a healthy environment, decent working conditions and fair wages. The Alliance works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practice, business practices and consumer behavior.
