Taking time for ourselves as women, as mothers and as human beings, is essential to our quality of life. While it may be hard to find that peaceful moment amongst busy schedules, committing to a practice that puts YOU first will result in a major soul shift. Take time to align yourself, even if you only have 2 minutes to spare, the difference in your mood, energy, and focus will be palpable.
If you aren’t sure where to start, or how to meditate, try this simple Chocolate Meditation designed to bring you closer to your inner-creator energy this Mother’s Day.
Start by gathering a few things…
- A pen and paper.
- Your favorite collection of Vosges Haut-Chocolat. We suggest the Chocolate Meditation Collection, or one of our new Spring Chocolate Collections.
- Comforting bits of ambiance. This could be a candle or two, incense, a bundle of vetiver or sage to burn, or a stick of Palo Santo.
-Any items that you are drawn to. Perhaps, you collect crystals, or you have a lucky coin. Bringing energetic items into a mediation can help increase focus during the process.
Now that you have gathered your meditative tools, pick a space to sit and relax. This could be in your bedroom, at your kitchen table, or in your office. If you have time, try venturing outdoors into your yard or nearby tree line. When it comes to choosing your space, the biggest requirement is does it relax you? Does it inspire you? Does it bring you into being? This is different for everyone, so there is no wrong answer if you are being true to yourself.
Once you have settled into your space, lay out your pen and paper, favorite chocolates, and set out your candles and chosen tools. It’s time to sit and relax.
The Practice
Start by getting in a comfortable seated position, head and heart held high, with your hands folded in your lap. Close your eyes and breathe in deeply through your nose, then out through your mouth. As you breathe in, expand your belly, slowly counting to 7. Empty your mind with each passing second, focusing only on the sound of your breath. Before breathing out, hold it in for just a moment. Picture the air inside you expanding, glowing, and beaming like the sun. Now exhale while slowly counting to 7. Repeat this 3 times through.
Now that you’ve centered yourself and quieted your mind, open your eyes. Grab your pen and paper and draw a large circle. At the center of the circle place your favorite truffle or piece of energized chocolate (all our chocolates are infused with 528hz frequency). Focus visually on the chocolate and ask yourself, “What do I want? What do I desire? Is it more confident trust in your instincts? More organization and me-time in the day? Take these thoughts with a positive spin and write them down inside the circle, surrounding the chocolate. Remember, intention must be paired with action.
“I am confident. I am beautiful and I am worth it.”
“I will take time for myself every day.”
“I am strong, healthy and on the path to success.”
“I am smart, and I have great ideas.”
“I am an amazing mother to me.”
“I am a Woman. I am desire. I am strong, powerful. I am connected to my inner wisdom, my inner voice and the subtle energy around me."
Once you’ve written out your affirmations, close your eyes once more and speak your truth into the center of the circle and into the chocolate. Again, take 3 deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth. At the top of each breath picture the message being absorbed into the chocolate itself.
When you are ready, open your eyes and pick up the chocolate. Slowly, very slowly, reach for the chocolate and take it into your hand. Feel its texture, notice its sheen, take in its aroma. Be extremely curious- with each bite you’ll feel the energy infused into your chocolate from your written intentions. Notice the serendipity. This desire now vibrates within your body at a cellular level and magnetizes to you.
Remember, taking a minute for yourself is important, so practice this meditation often. You create your reality, so act on the intentions you hold through the lens of deep desire.
Happy Mother's Day!
