My wife and I have exchanged Vosges chocolates for many years - possibly decades. The appeal has always been the quality, uniqueness, creative flavor profiles, and simply sharing something that was just really delicious and unique. That was not the experience the last *two* times we've received your chocolates. Let me walk you through this latest shipment. Shipping - The packaging was fairly sparse and whatever thermal controls failed. The box seemed to have been roughed up *before* it was placed in the shipping package. Despite ordering in the Fall and during a nationwide "cold snap", several of the truffles managed to melt inside the container and stick to the packaging. The plastic wrap around the interior of the chocolate package was coated in chocolate dust - I do not mean chocolate powder that might decorate the top of a truffle, but the sort of chocolate flakes and dust you'd only expect from drugstore chocolates like Russel Stover. I'm not exaggerating at all. Then, let's discuss the chocolates themselves. What has made your product unique for us has been the subtle gourmand flavors and interesting pairings of flavors. Delicious. Creative. For us at least, that is what you're known for. The order was for "Exotic Truffles", but everything we sampled from this latest shipment simply tasted like it had been soaked in booze, and that's all. None of the flavors were subtle, and everything tasted like an Anthon Berg novelty. Okay, maybe that was an exaggeration, but very slightly. I don't know what's happened to your company, but the quality is way off, the level of care is much lower than it has ever been. Far from feeling like a special treat, your chocolates have become a boring commodity item. Even the decoration of the chocolates now mirrors things you can order in bulk from commercial suppliers. And for your price point, none of this is okay. I wish you success however you find it, but it's clear that our prior disappointments are representative of your new normal. I think we've ordered our last box.
