Vosges Haut-Chocolat, A Certified Transparent Company™

Vosges Haut-Chocolat is a Certified Transparent Company via Transparency.Global

At Vosges Haut-Chocolat our mission and purpose are deeply rooted in each facet of the experience. Naturally, the sensory experience is the essence of our first impression, but what is truly special, is the alignment of our philosophical values with the day-to-day actions you can’t see as a consumer.

We are focused on being uncommon, honest, and honorable in sourcing best in class ingredients. To obtain our green purchasing oath goals, we only buy packaging that is made with post-consumer board and create keep sake boxes that won’t be thrown away. These practices are part of our evaluation of the upstream and downstream of how packaging impacts the earth. Treating our employees and our guests as friends and family, this very high level of commitment to service is what makes the brand feel truly unique and heart centered. There is much behind the curtain here at Vosges that you don’t see, but we hope you can feel.

In January, Vosges Haut-Chocolat was named a Certified Transparent Company by Transparency Global, the first company ever to quantify corporate transparency. The certification demonstrates how Vosges stands out and outperforms in our organizational transparency to our superior sourcing and green initiatives.

“We are deeply committed to transparency in our culture, from sharing our authentic crafting story, to ensuring that our front-end intentions match our back-end operations. Approaching our work as a Certified Transparent Company™ is a reaffirmation of all we are here to do with impact and purpose."

In an era where Greenwashing has increased due to the importance of consumers wanting to purchase environmentally sound products, this certification is an affirmation to the values of Vosges.

We see this certification as an equal to our other esteemed accolades and honors. When we were named by Food & Wine as the "innovator in chocolate to lead the US through the next 30 years," we recognized that this meant innovations not only in the medium of chocolate, but in the methods we use for manufacturing, the values of our ingredient partners, and offsetting our carbon emissions with renewable energy. Transparency runs through every part of our company and our daily practices.

As a customer, this means that you can feel good about purchasing from us while enjoying every luscious bite of chocolate with the confidence that the hands that made it, from start to finish, were thoughtful and conscious. Each component in the supply chain, crafting, customer, and employee experience is integrated in our mission of making something that is delicious, transparent, and highly accountable.

And while it is always an honor to be the first and to trailblaze a path, we hope we’re just the first of many companies that are willing to allow a full view into the looking glass.

Transparency is here and now.

Peace, Love, and Chocolate,
